See Inside Functionality in Google Hotel Finder

Google has added “See inside” functionality to Hotel Finder, allowing users and potential guests to check out a hotel in more detail before booking it:

The link to launch this functionality is prominently featured on the Hotel Finder property details page. This space launches a standard image gallery and reads “See all photos” for properties that are not participating in the new program.

When a user clicks the “See inside” link, a larger interface loads allowing the user to move around the hotel, view hotel spaces from different angles, and view details of mapped areas in high resolution. The user experience is very close to street view, but inside.

Earlier this year there was some news (via Search Engine Land, Fox News) sparked by press releases referencing the program. Though the Business Photos and 360-degree tour functionality has been around for some time, this specific integration appears new.

Enabled properties don’t appear to be called out in the Hotel Finder search results in any unique way via an icon or indicator. There currently is no filter to view just properties with inside views, indicating this integration is still in testing.
